2020 Vision

I’m sure that many of us have been struggling how to process all the crazy things that have happened this year. However, this lovely quote by Leslie Dwight may just sum it up perfectly.

What if 2020 is the year we’ve been waiting for?

A year so uncomfortable, so painful, so scary, so raw – that it finally forces us to grow.

A year that screams so loud, finally awakening us from our ignorant slumber.

A year we finally accept the need for change.

Declare change. Work for change. Become the change.

A year we finally band together, instead of pushing each other further apart.

2020 isn’t cancelled, but rather the most important year of them all.

And it ties in beautifully with Katie O'Meara's widely shared poem on the pandemic, and hope for the wise 2020 vision that will be its crowing legacy:

And the People Stayed Home:

And the people stayed home.
And read books and listened, and rested and exercised,
and made art and played games,
and learned new ways of being and were still.
And listened more deeply.
Some meditated, some prayed, some danced.
Some met their shadows.
And the people began to think differently.

And the people healed.
And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless and heartless ways the earth began to heal.

And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again,
they grieved their losses, and made new choices,
and dreamed new images,
and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully,
as they had been healed.
