Care Guide for Your MIKA & MILO Garments
Cashmere loves water! To keep your garments looking their best, we recommend hand washing them with care. As cashmere is a natural fiber, some pilling may occur over time. To maintain its quality, we suggest washing your garments after they’ve been worn two or three times.
Soak: Submerge the item in cool water with a mild detergent, such as Woolite (a cashmere/wool-specific detergent is ideal).
Clean: Gently distribute the suds through the fabric. Avoid wringing, as this can stretch the fibers and distort the shape.
Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the item in clean, lukewarm water.
Dry: Gently squeeze out excess water or use the lightest spin cycle on your washing machine. Reshape the garment and lay it flat to dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight.
Ironing (if needed): If ironing is necessary, use the lowest setting and move the iron quickly to avoid damaging the fibers.
Pro Tip: For items with buttons, always undo them before washing to maintain their integrity.
Accidents happen! If your little one has spilled ketchup, peanut butter, or other stubborn stains on their cashmere, don’t panic. Follow these steps to rescue your garment:
Remove Excess: Use a butter knife or spoon to carefully lift off any globs of ketchup, peanut butter, or other solids.
Rinse: Run cold water through the back of the stain to push it out of the fabric. Avoid hot water, as it can set the stain further.
Treat: Gently massage a tiny amount of dish soap into the stain with your fingers. Dish soap is excellent at cutting through grease and is safe for cashmere in small amounts.
Rinse Again: Rinse the area thoroughly with cool water to remove all soap residue.
Dry: Lay the garment flat to dry, away from direct sunlight.
With these simple steps, your MIKA & MILO garments will stay soft, beautiful, and ready to be passed down for years to come.
